Kijiji Autos searches use filters to help you to narrow down on the vehicle you want. The first step in this process is setting up your search. You can start searches from the Search or Discover section of the app.
For more general searches with lots of results, start from Discover. From the Discover section, you can click on the Make and model field or choose one of the pre-built searches like First Cars or Family Cars.
For a more specific search, start from Search. From the Search section, you can choose from many filters to find exactly what you’re looking for.
Make and Model
To select a make, click into that field in either the Discover or Search section of the app. You can either type in the name of the brand or select from the list. Once you’ve selected your make, the model options for that brand will appear below. This will limit your searches to only that make and/or model.
Note: The make and model field does not accept keywords. Please only enter a make or model (or leave it blank to search all makes and models) and then use filters to find specific years, colours, etc.
- From the Search screen or search results screen, tap Set location or Change (you’ll see Change if you already had a location set).
- Type your address or postal code into the location bar. If you’d rather have it detect your location automatically, you can click the arrow button within the location bar.
Note: This will require you to allow us to detect your location. To do this, you’ll have to choose Allow when your device asks for permission.
- Select a maximum distance. This will remove any ads that are more than the selected distance from your location. It defaults to 100km, but you can select as close as 5kms or as far as 1,000km.
Note: If you want to search all of Canada, remove your location entirely and then tap the results button.
You can set as many or as few filters as you want when you start a search. Blank filters have no effect on your searches, so if you don’t have a preference, you don’t have to choose an option for every filter. They can also be adjusted after starting your search.
