Business Accounts and Changes to Listing Fees

Here are some FAQs to help you better understand Business accounts available on the Kijiji App:

  • What’s a business account? Is this something new? 
    • You should already be familiar with the business account for categories like Real Estate or Jobs but now the account will be a business account for all applicable categories, not just the one you’re used to. We have done this so we can create a more customized and uniform experience across all business sellers. This will also enable us to build new exclusive features for businesses.   • Do I have to pay anything extra to use a business account?
    • No, there are no additional fees to create a business account. However, you will need to pay the appropriate listing fees for business listings in categories where it is required. Learn more about listing fees across categories here.
  • I used to list for free in certain categories and now I can’t. What’s changed?
    • Given a business account can only post business listings across all applicable categories, there may be listing fees to post business listings in categories where it is required (learn more here). For categories where business listings have a free posting limit today, this will not change with the introduction of Business accounts.
  • How can I post listings for my personal use? 
    • If you want to post a personal listing, you will need to have a separate Personal account using a different email address.
  • What are the advantages of this new Business account? 
    • You get more options to customize your listings and public Profile page. You will also be able to use any upcoming features that are exclusive to Business sellers.
  • What happens to my existing listings, previously paid features and transaction history?
    • There will be no changes to your existing listings, previously paid features and transaction history. Any active listings and paid features will not be impacted. 
    • When editing active and/or past listings, the original listing type (personal/owner or business/professional) will not change. For example, if you have an active and/or past personal/owner listing, when editing this ad, the listing will remain a personal/owner listing.
  • Can I switch from a Business to a Personal account (and vice versa)?
    • There is a self-serve account switch option on the Kijiji app (under the ‘Manage Account’ option in the Profile page). There is no self-serve option on today but you can request an account type change by contacting our customer support team. For differences between personal and business accounts, go here
