Individuals who use Kijiji to post a high volume of Long Term/Short Term Rentals, Commercial/ Office Space rentals, Room Rentals/Roommates, Storage/Parking, or House/Condo/Land/Commercial For Sale are required to pay a listing fee.
This policy is similar to what we have initiated in the Cars & Vehicles section and works to target spam, fraud, and users who post and re-post their units daily, which is frustrating for our core user base. It will also make your ads more visible, for longer, creating a cleaner, more effective overall experience.
The listing fee payable per ad for each period of 31 days is charged to those who self-identify as professional renters as well as to private renters who have listed more than 1 (one) ad from their household at a time in the following categories:
- Long Term Rentals
- Commercial & Office Space for Rent
- Room Rentals & Roommates
- Short Term Rentals
- Storage & Parking
- Houses For Sale
- Condos For Sale
- Land For Sale
- Commercial & Office Space for Sale
These fees are in place across all locations and can be paid using a credit card (Visa, AMEX, MasterCard, VISA Debit/MasterCard Debit).
Posting as a Professional Renter
Professional Renter status may be applied if you post an above-average number of rentals. This status indicates frequent posting of rentals and therefore subject to listing fees. As a Professional, you will also gain access to all of our Professional Renter benefits.
Once your account has been marked as a Professional Renter:
- When posting on web, free listings will no longer be available in any of the Real Estate categories, but will retain free listings in all other categories (ex. A Professional Renter will be required to pay for any listing(s) in Real Estate For Rent or For Sale, however may post 1 free listing in the Cars & Vehicles)
- When posting on the app, free listings will no longer be available in any of the listing fee categories (Cars & Vehicles, Real Estate, Jobs)
Please note:
- Any combination of ads posted in the above categories cannot exceed the maximum free listing quota of 1 (one) ad.
- You should only post one unit per ad.
- You should only list your unit once, in the most appropriate city and category. Systematically removing and publishing new listings for the same or similar unit is not allowed. If you want more exposure for your ad, please consider purchasing one of our many features.
